70-Year-Old Navy Vet Pleads Guilty to Possessing 82 Pounds of Marijuana

Walter Kwiatek, of Cloverdale, Calif. pleaded guilty today of possessing 82 pounds of marijuana after he tried to ship the weed to himself through a South Eglin warehouse last December. The drugs are said to have a street value of $47,000.
Prosecutors say they're still working with defense lawyers to agree on a sentence for the 70-year-old man who is a Navy veteran that served during the Vietnam war and has no criminal history.
Kwiatek's maximum sentence will be 30 years, but he's unlikely to serve that much time because he has a clean record. He's set to be sentenced July 18.
