Pineapple Express is a classic fish-out-of-water story about two potheads who get caught up in an action movie plot straight out of a Jerry Bruckheimer flick.
Seth Rogen stars as pothead everyman Dale Denton, a process server who witnesses a murder and must escape certain death at the hands of criminal thugs with lots and lots of guns.
I've always liked Seth Rogen and found him hilarious, but he is really out-shined in this one by co-star James Franco. Franco plays Denton's drug dealer Saul and is so lovably goofy that he steals the show. I don't know why he doesn't play more comedy roles, because this dude is seriously funny.
If you like Judd Apatow style comedy, don't miss this one.
